Marcel Waldispühl (born October 11, 1979 ) is a former Swiss cyclist . In 2009 he became world champion with RV Winterthur .

Career

In 1989 he started his career at RV Sirnach . After just two years, he won his first bronze medal with pupil B together with Patrick Brühwiler. In 1997 he won the Swiss Junior Championship together with Patrick Brühwiler and was promoted directly to the first division. In the next few years he rose to the NLA and played there for four years with his brother André, two years with Philipe Holenstein and two with Pascal Schüepp. In 2005, he and André won the silver medal at the Swiss Cup and thus qualified for the European Cup , where he finished sixth. At the end of the 2008 season he moved to RV Winterthur , where he has since played with Peter Jiricek . They became world champions in their first year together and vice world champions the following year. From the 2013 season Waldispühl played together with Jiricek in the successor club Radballclub Winterthur , which was formed from a merger with the second Winterthur bicycle club ATB Winterthur .

After the 2016 season, Marcel Waldispühl ended his active cycling career.
