Marcel Wehr (born July 15, 1990 in Bad Neustadt ) is a German soccer player . The 1.87 m tall goalkeeper has been under contract with TSV Großbardorf since 2015 .

Career

Marcel Wehr started at the DJK Salz at the age of seven , before joining TSV Großbardorf from the C-youth . There, the right-footed Wehr, who was considered "the greatest talent of his age in Northern Bavaria", moved up to the first team in the Regionalliga Süd in 2009 and thus came on the 26th matchday on April 18, 2009 at the 0: 2 Away defeat against SV Waldhof Mannheim on his debut in the active area. As a result, he came in the further course of the season to three more appearances in the regional league before the club relegated to the Bayern league at the end of the season. At the age of 19 he became the goalkeeper of TSV the following season and played 31 games in the Bayern League.

In the summer of 2010, Wehr rejected offers from the second division TSV 1860 Munich and SpVgg Greuther Fürth . Instead, he switched to VfR Aalen , who had achieved promotion to the third division under head coach Rainer Scharinger with the concept of a team of young, talented players from lower leagues as champions of the Regionalliga Süd , and signed a two-year contract there. At VfR he was a substitute keeper behind regular goalkeeper Daniel Bernhardt , who in the following 2010/11 season but completed all games and achieved relegation with the team. Instead, Wehr came from time to time in the club's second team in the association league. He made his professional league debut in the following season 2011/12 under coach Ralph Hasenhüttl , when he replaced the sick Bernhardt in the 2: 4 away defeat against 1. FC Saarbrücken on March 13, 2012. At the end of the season, the team reached second place in the table and thus promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga.

Another goalkeeper, Jasmin Fejzić, was signed for the new second division season , so that in the 2012/13 season Wehr was only used in the club's second team, which had meanwhile been relegated to the national league, with which he achieved immediate promotion to the association league. In the following season, Marcel Wehr was the third goalkeeper; as such, he sat on the bench a few times in second division games, but was still only used for the second team in the association league.

After four years in Aalen, he switched to regional league team SpVgg Neckarelz in summer 2014 . After only one season he went back to his first professional club TSV Großbardorf . In summer 2018 he joined his hometown club DJK Salz.
