Marcelijus Martinaitis

Marcelijus Teodoras Martinaitis (born April 1, 1936 in Paserbentys , Raseiniai district ; † April 5, 2013 in Vilnius ) was a Lithuanian poet .

Life

He graduated from Kaunas Polytechnic in 1956 . 1964 graduated from the Vilniaus universitetas (VU) and then worked in the editorial offices of newspapers and magazines. From 1980 he taught at the chair for Lithuanian literature at the VU. In 1989 he became a deputy in the Supreme Soviet of the Soviet Union.
