Marcelo Araújo Alves (* 1994 ) is a German - Brazilian reggae - singer .

Life

Alves comes from Brazil and has lived in Germany since 2011. He attended the Ferdinand-Braun-Schule and the Eduard-Stieler-Schule in Fulda and is currently training to become a gas and water plumber .

When a bus from the casting show Deutschland sucht den Superstar stopped at Fuldaer Universitätsplatz in the summer of 2014 , Alves sang and was invited to the casting for the twelfth season of the show . There he performed the self-written reggae song Verliebt in der fake girl , which is based on the beat of the riddim Doctor’s Darling by the Berlin band Seeed . He rapped in broken German with many grammatical errors about his lovesickness . His vote did not meet the requirements of the jury and he did not make it to the next round. Nevertheless, jury member Dieter Bohlen attested Alves hit potential.

Even before the television broadcast began, RTL posted the video with Alves' appearance on the YouTube video platform on December 22, 2014 in order to advertise the start of the new season. The video quickly became popular on social networks. After the TV broadcast of the appearance on January 24, 2015, it reached almost a million clicks within a few days. For the first time in the history of Deutschland sucht den Superstar , RTL made an appearance from the casting available for download. The song then rose to number one on the download charts of various providers and then to number 28 on the German single charts .
