Marcelo Rodrigo Xavier (born February 18, 1988 in Maringá ), also called Marcelo Xavier , is a Brazilian football player .

Career

Marcelo Xavier was under contract with Paulista FC from 2007 to 2011 . The club from Jundiaí in the state of São Paulo played in the Campeonato Paulista . Until 2016 he played for the Brazilian clubs CA Juventus , Maringá FC , Operário Ferroviário EC and Botafogo FC (SP) . In 2014 he was with Maringá FC in the final of the Paraná national championship . In the two finals they lost after two draws against the Londrina EC . In 2017 he went to Asia . Here he signed a contract with Suphanburi FC in Thailand . The club from Suphanburi played in the highest league in the country, the Thai League . After 23 top division games and four goals scored, he returned to Brazil in 2018 where he joined his former club Maringá FC. In 2018 he celebrated the state championship of Mato Grosso with Maringá . He was also runner-up in the Campeonato Brasileiro de Futebol - Série C behind the winner Operário Ferroviário EC. In September 2019 he moved to CA Tubarão in Tubarão until the beginning of December . In December 2019 he was signed by Botafogo FC (PB) from João Pessoa .
