Marchetsreut is located in the southern Bavarian Forest one kilometer south of Perlesreut.

history

Marchetsreut was part of the Passau bishopric . The place was in 1803 with the largest part of the Passau area in favor of the Electorate of Salzburg by Ferdinand III. Secularized by Tuscany and fell to Bavaria in 1805 . With the formation of the communities in 1818 on the basis of the second Bavarian community edict of May 17, 1818, the community Kumreut was formed, to which Marchetsreut belonged. Marchetsreut was incorporated with Empertsreut, Göschlmühle, Marktberg and Prombach on May 1, 1978 to Perlesreut and forms a separate district there .
