Marcia Moretto (* 1949 ; † 1981 in Paris ) was an Argentine dancer and choreographer who lived and worked in Paris.

Life

From the mid-1970s, Marcia Moretto worked closely with the Spanish author and dramaturge Armando Llamas (1950–2003). He created the piece 5 dance templates for the choreographer Marcia Moretto . Moretto taught dance in the Paris suburb of Sartrouville . One of her students was Catherine Ringer , who became her artistic partner. For example, she performed with Ringer in Llamas ' piece "Silences Nocturnes aux îles des fées" after her choreography in 1976 and 1977 in Paris.

Moretto died of rapidly progressing cancer in 1981 at the age of 32 .

After her death, Catherine Ringer wrote the French pop song Marcia Baïla (Marcia dances) in homage to Marcia Moretto, who became the commercial breakthrough for her band Les Rita Mitsouko and a hit in the 1980s. Le Monde raved: when wrestler Marcia Baïla sang on the stage of the Opera Garnier in a satin dress by Jean Paul Gaultier , the energy of the revolt became visible in the dance of Moretto.
