Marco Genthe (born March 18, 1967 in Bremen ) is a German politician ( FDP ). He has been a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament since 2013 .

education and profession

After graduating from high school in 1987 and completing basic military service, Marco Genthe studied law . He passed the first state examination in law in 1994 and the second in 1999. In 1998 he was promoted to Dr. jur. PhD. He works as a lawyer in Weyhe .

Political activity

Marco Genthe has been a member of the FDP since 2001. He is chairman of the FDP district association Diepholz and a member of the board of the FDP district association Osnabrück and a member of the state board of the FDP Lower Saxony. He has been a member of the Weyhe local council since 2001, and of the district council of the Diepholz district since 2006 . From 2006 to 2016 he was chairman of the committee for fire protection, safety and traffic.

Genthe represents the FDP parliamentary group in the Lower Saxony state parliament as a member of the committee for legal and constitutional issues as well as in the subcommittee "prison system and criminal assistance". He is a member and deputy member of the Committee for the Protection of the Constitution in the committees for home affairs and sport as well as in the committee for the control of special police data collections.

In the state elections in 2013 , he was elected to the Lower Saxony state parliament at number 10 on the state list. For the early state elections on October 15, 2017, he ran again for the Free Democrats and moved back to the state parliament at number 4 for the Free Democrats. In the parliamentary group of Free Democrats, Genthe is the spokesman for law, the constitution and the penal system as well as domestic politics.

Marco Genthe lives in Weyhe, is married and has two children.
