Marco Jetzer

Marco Jetzer (born July 12, 1981 in Frauenfeld ) is a Swiss water polo player .

Life

Marco Jetzer was born in Frauenfeld and grew up in Kreuzlingen . He trained as a food technologist specializing in chocolate .

At the age of five (1986) he became a member of the local swimming club, SC Kreuzlingen. There he went through all levels of training up to the competitive swimmer.

In 1994 he switched to water polo , which in Switzerland is more of a fringe sport. There he was used as a goalkeeper. In the NLA squad of the Kreuzlingen swimming club, he rose as a reserve goalkeeper. In his youth and junior years, Marco Jetzer won several medals for his club. He rose to the squad selection of the Eastern Switzerland region and was used in the "Team Bodensee". For several years Jetzer took part in the European Cup with the SCK. In 2008 Jetzer won the double (Swiss Cup and Swiss Championship) with the SCK, for the first time in the club's history.

At the age of 15, Marco Jetzer was called up for the U19 selection of the Swiss national team and after his junior years he was immediately accepted into the Swiss national team. With this he also took part in the B - European Championship in Istanbul in 2004 . Jetzer has played a total of 47 international matches with the Herrennati.

In 2000 and 2001, Jetzer joined the Romanshorn swimming club .
