Marco Kerler

Marco Kerler (born January 28, 1985 in Ulm ) is a German writer .

life and work

Marco Kerler trained as an educator at the Catholic Technical School for Social Education in Ulm. In this profession he works full time.

At the technical school in Ulm, Kerler attended the literature group under the direction of Ilse Hehn . With her support, the first poems appeared in 2006 in the literary magazine Matrix published by Pop Verlag (Ludwigsburg). Since then, poems have appeared in several anthologies and literary magazines.

In 2006, Kerler joined the Ulm Authors 81 eV association, and in 2010 he joined the event team at Artwork eV, where he has been the main person responsible for literature ever since. In 2007 he made his debut with the volume of poetry Damn Poetry , again with the support of Ilse Hehn. In 2011 Kerler received the sponsorship award for Young Ulm Art.

In June 2012, Marco Kerler organized the Summer of Poems as part of the Baden-Württemberg Literature Summer in cooperation with the Association of Artwork eV, Ulm. To this end, he founded the band MarcoBeatZ , which existed in different line- ups until 2016.

In 2014, the collection of poems Das Ulmer Quartett (with Dietmar Herzog, Ilse Hehn, Adi Hübel ) was published in the Banat Cultural Center in German and Serbian.

In 2015 he produced the radio play Goldhähnchen , which he realized together with Clemens Grote, Andreas Usenbenz and Boris Chikulay. With this he was nominated for the 6th Jena radio play competition. In the same year, Marco Kerler's second volume of poetry, Schreibgekritzel, was published .

In 2017 he was the first city clerk for the Ulm Literature Week.
