Marco Richterich

Marco Richterich (real name Marc-André Richterich , born April 19, 1929 in Saint-Imier ; † May 11, 1997 in Basel ) was a Swiss painter , lithographer and draftsman .

Richterich spent his childhood in Saint-Imier and then studied applied arts at the cantonal technical center in Biel (today: Bern University of Applied Sciences for Technology and Information Technology ) and completed an apprenticeship as a draftsman-lithographer. In 1952 he settled in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence , France , and from then on he realized numerous solo and group exhibitions at home and abroad. In 1954 and 1955 he received a grant from the Federal Art Commission . From 1958 he lived and worked in Basel, where he died in 1997. His pictures are now in public art collections in Basel, Biel and Lausanne as well as in various private collections.

Richterich's work often includes nude portraits as well as city images, which testify to his many travels through Central Europe. A characteristic recognition feature of his pictures is a rough drawn sun resp. Moon . Other works include a. a mosaic for the Gwatt school  ( Thun ) and six glass-painted church windows for the Christian Catholic Church in Biel.
