Marco Romano (born May 6, 1953 in Naples ) is a former Italian saber fencer who subsequently became a professor of gastroenterology .
successes
Marco Romano was runner-up with the team in Melbourne in 1979 . At the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow , he moved to the final against the Soviet Union with the team . The Italian team around Romano, Ferdinando Meglio , Mario Aldo Montano , Michele Maffei and Giovanni Scalzo lost the battle with 2: 9 , so that Romano won the silver medal.
Romano worked in medicine after his sporting career . He is Professor of Gastroenterology at the Università degli Studi della Campania Luigi Vanvitelli .
