Marco Sneck (born October 19, 1978 in Lapinlahti ) is a Finnish musician. He became known as a keyboardist for Kalmah and Poisonblack .

biography

In 1993, at the age of 14, he began to learn keyboard. At the beginning he does techno , it wasn't until 1995 that he began to be interested in metal . In 1999 he joined the progressive metal band Mental Voice and a short time later he joined the power metal band Afterworld . In autumn 2001 Mental Voice recorded a first demo and played a few concerts. A second demo appeared in autumn 2002. Also in 2002, Sneck recorded a piano track for the piece Guilt and Regret on the Sentenced album The Cold White Light . In 2003 Marco Sneck joined the bands Slippery When Wet and Poisonblack . From September 23, 2003, Marco Sneck played on a tour for Charon Keyboard. In the spring of 2004, Janne Kusmin, who was playing for Kalmah at the time , joined Mental Voice as drummer , while Marco Sneck replaced Pasi Hiltula as keyboardist for Kalmah . In 2005 he played as a session musician with Reflexion . In 2006 he formed the band Stargazery . He also played for Ferocia for some time .

role models

Rhapsody and Dream Theater have had a strong influence on Marco Sneck's ideal sound. In particular, Jens Johansson from Yngwie Malmsteen and Stratovarius , Alex Staropoli from Rhapsody , Jordan Rudess , Richard Andersson and Damien Gregori from Cradle of Filth are keyboard players who have influenced him.
