Marcos Martínez Ucha (born October 15, 1985 in Madrid ) is a Spanish racing driver .

Career

Martínez began his karting career in 1998 and switched to the Spanish Formula Junior in 2002, where he was active until 2004. His best place in the overall standings was eighth place in the 2004 season. In 2005, Martínez switched to the B-Class of Spanish Formula 3 and was runner-up in this series for Racing Engineering . Then Martínez started for Racing Engineering in the Spanish Formula 3 in 2006 and finished tenth in the overall standings. He also drove six races in Formula Renault 3.5 .

2007 Martínez started the season with the Novo Team in the Spanish Formula 3. After ten races Martínez switched to Racing Engineering in the GP2 series . After failing to qualify on his first race weekend, he contested eight races in the GP2 series. With a fourth place in his home race in Valencia as the best place, he finished 22nd in the drivers' standings at the end of the season. In 2008 Martínez returned in Formula Renault 3.5 and was starting 15th in the overall standings for Pons Racing . He also took part in two Spanish Formula 3 races, one of which he won. In 2009 Martínez stayed in Formula Renault 3.5 and started again for Pons Racing. Although only the future champion Bertrand Baguette achieved more victories than Martínez, he only finished seventh overall at the end of the season.

In 2010 Martínez switched to Superleague Formula , in which he drove for the Sevilla FC team supported by DeVillota.com Motorsport . He scored a victory. He also planned to start another season in Formula Renault 3.5 and he already had a contract for the 2010 season with SG Formula . However, SG Formula withdrew from Formula Renault 3.5 a week before the start of the season. In 2011 Martínez took part in a Formula Renault 3.5 race weekend for Pons Racing.
