Marcus Egin

Marcus Egin is a former German basketball player .

career

Egin moved in 1982 from Post-SV Karlsruhe to USC Heidelberg  and rose with the USC in his first season from the 2nd basketball league  to the basketball league  . In the top German league, he was also part of the Heidelberg squad. In August 1984 the winger was part of the German national team for the European Junior Championship and scored an average of eleven points per game in seven appearances over the course of the tournament. In 1985 he went back to the second division with the USC and stayed there for another year.

In 1986 Egin was drawn back to the Bundesliga, he was signed by Steiner Bayreuth . In 1987 he moved to first division competitor TV 1862 Langen , with whom he missed the Bundesliga relegation in the season 87/88. Egin played from then on during the 1988/89 season for MTV 1846 Gießen in the Bundesliga, in 1989 he moved back to Karlsruhe. He later played for the BC Johanneum Hamburg in the 2nd Bundesliga.

After his playing career, Egin worked as a youth trainer and coordinator for the Hamburg club TSG Bergedorf , later he also took over the office of managing director of the Altrahlstedter men's gymnastics club (AMTV) in the Hanseatic city.
