from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Marcus Fabius Vibulanus came from the Roman noble family of Fabier and was 442 BC. Chr. Consul and 433 v. Chr. Consular Tribune.

Life

Marcus Fabius Vibulanus was probably the eldest son of the three-time consul Quintus Fabius Vibulanus . 442 BC He was elected consul together with Postumus Aebutius Helva Cornicen . As a legacy of the dictator Mamercus Aemilius Mamercinus he is said to be 437 BC. Fought against the Fidenates ; this was probably only added by later annalists . He received the office of a consular tribune in 433 BC. It is very doubtful whether he lived in 431 BC. Under the command of the dictator Aulus Postumius Tubertus took part in the war against the Volscians , which in and of itself was well authenticated . Certainly not he was in 390 BC. BC Pontifex maximus , because the Roman historian Titus Livius offers the name Marcus Folius as the best tradition , while the biographer Plutarch , for example, already passed on the name Fabius .
