Marcus Gerbezius
Marcus Gerbezius (also Gerbesius , born October 24, 1658 in Castau , Carniola ; † March 9, 1718 in Laibach , Carniola) was a Carniolan doctor, academic in Laibach and member of the academy of scholars " Leopoldina ."
Marcus Gerbezius, also Marko Gerbec, first studied philosophy in Laibach and then medicine in Vienna. Shortly before the Ottoman army marched into Vienna in 1683, he left the city and went to Padua. He finished his medical studies in Bologna in 1684. Here he studied with Marcello Malpighi, among others . Marcus Gerbezius was a physician and doctor of the Carinthian estates and an academic in Laibach.
On November 1, 1688, Marcus Gerbezius, nicknamed AGESILAUS, was accepted into the Leopoldina as a member ( matriculation number 165 ) . He was the first to describe the Adams-Stokes attack .
