Marcus Porcius Cato Salonianus the Elder
Marcus Porcius Cato Salonianus (* 154 BC , † in the 2nd century BC ) or Salonianus Cato was a Roman politician and son of the censor Marcus Porcius Cato .
Life
Salonianus received his cognomen because of his mother, Salonia , who was the daughter of a freedman and became the second wife of the "censor". His brother, Marcus Porcius Cato Licinianus, on the other hand, was the son of Licinia, the first wife of old Cato. Little is known about Salonianus' life. He had a son of the same name , who in turn was the father of Cato Uticensis . Salonianus died during his praetur .
