Marcus Porcius Cato Licinianus
Marcus Porcius Cato Licinianus (short Cato Licinianus ; † .. 152 BC ) was a Roman politician and son of Marcus Porcius Cato the Elder .
Licinianus received his cognomen to distinguish it from his half-brother Marcus Porcius Cato Salonianus , whom Cato the Elder had sired with the daughter of a freedman , Salonia . Licinianus, on the other hand, was the son of Cato's wife Licinia .
Licinianus served in 173 BC. In Liguria under Marcus Popillius Laenas , 168 BC. BC in Macedonia under Lucius Aemilius Paullus Macedonicus , whose daughter Aemilia Tertia he married after the war. After that he mainly worked as a lawyer . 152 BC He died as praetor designate before his father.
Two sons of Licinianus were consuls from 118 BC. BC, Marcus Porcius Cato , and from 114 BC. BC, Gaius Porcius Cato .
