Marcus Sempronius Tuditanus (Consul 240 BC)

Marcus Sempronius Tuditanus was a member of the Roman noble family of the Sempronians and was born in 240 BC. Chr. Consul and 230 BC Chr. Censor .

From the Fasti Capitolini it emerges that Tuditanus' father had the praenomen Gaius and his grandfather the prenomen Marcus .

Only the two most important stages of Tuditanus' political career are known: He reached the consulate in 240 BC. BC (his fellow consul was Gaius Claudius Centho ); a decade later (230 BC) he was censor and exercised this office together with Quintus Fabius Maximus Verrucosus , who later went down in history as a "procrastinator" due to his hesitant but successful tactics in the fight against Hannibal .
