Marcus Lorenzo Storey (born November 9, 1982 in Chicago , Illinois ) is a retired American football player .
Career
Storey first played for the college team at the University of North Carolina between 2001 and 2004 , where he achieved 29 goals and 21 assists in 86 games in addition to his degree in communication science . He then moved to the fourth class Development League of the United Soccer Leagues . With his team Carolina Dynamo he achieved the impressive average of 1.17 hits per game.
In the so-called SuperDraft , an annual selection process for current and former college players, the Columbus Crew team, which plays in Major League Soccer (first US league) , secured the services of the attacker in 2005 . After a season he was sold to the recently founded league competitor Houston Dynamo , where he did not get along and did not play a single game. In 2007 he was deleted from the squad and was subsequently temporarily without a club.
At the beginning of the second half of the 2007/08 season, Lower Saxony's upper division team TuS Heeslingen signed the 176 cm tall, fast striker, who made a good impression on his new club and scored ten goals in 15 games. Since Heeslingen managed to qualify for the newly formed Regionalliga Nord, but did not receive a license for the league due to an inadequate stadium , the Storey, courted by several clubs, preferred to switch to the regional league club SV Wilhelmshaven . There he signed a contract until June 2009. At the side of the most dangerous goal- scoring player in the league, Wojciech Pollok , Storey scored 11 goals over the course of the season. However, he was also noticed by lack of discipline and received two dismissals . In the 2009/2010 season Storey played for SV Drochtersen in the Oberliga Niedersachsen-Ost. After a serious injury, however, he was not given a new contract there. In October 2010 Storey rejoined his old employer SV Wilhelmshaven. In 2012 he moved to league competitor BSV Rehden . In May 2013 he was tested positive for methylenedioxymethamphetamine during a doping control and was then banned for two years. On June 30, 2013, his contract in Rehden expired.
Storey preferred to play in the center-forward position and quickly sought a degree. Due to his acceleration, his speed and handling of the ball, however, he also preferred to use the wings, where dribbling was one of his strengths.
