Marcus Thomsen (born January 7, 1998 in Voss ) is a Norwegian shot putter .

Athletic career

Marcus Thomsen gained his first international experience in 2015 at the Youth World Championships in Cali , where he took eleventh place with a width of 19.16 m with a 5 kg ball. In the year he reached seventh place at the U20 World Championships in Bydgoszcz with 19.39 m with the 6 kg ball and in 2017 he won the U20 European Championships in Grosseto with 21.36 m. In 2018 he took part in the European Championships in Berlin for the first time, but did not reach the final with 19.59 m. At the European Athletics Indoor Championships 2019 in Glasgow he finished seventh with a push of 20.22 m and then came fourth at the U23 European Championships in Gävle with 19.41 m.

From 2017 to 2019 Thomsen was Norwegian champion in the shot put outdoors and from 2018 to 2020 also indoors.
