Mareike Miller (* 3. August 1990 in Friedberg , Hessen as Mareike wire man ) is a German wheelchair basketball player .

Life

Miller's hometown is Essen . She began her basketball career at TV Bensberg , but soon switched to ETB Black and White . She made her debut in the women's regional league when she was only 14, but tore a cruciate ligament in her first game. In the following three years she tears more cruciate ligaments, so that she was considered a sports disabled person before she came of age.

At the age of 18 she began her second career as a wheelchair basketball player. She went through various junior national team teams and quickly rose to the senior national team. Since 2009 Miller has been studying in the United States at the University of Wisconsin -Whitewater , where he plays for the UWW Warhawks . In 2010, she was with the German national team in Birmingham vice-world champion and 2011 in Nazareth (Israel) European champion . In 2012 she won the gold medal with the national team at the Paralympic wheelchair basketball tournament . In the final against Australia she was the best thrower at 58:44 with 19 points. Miller became German champion in 2013 with Hamburger SV . Miller has played for BG Baskets Hamburg since 2017 .
