Marek Wojtkowski

Marek Wojtkowski (born February 26, 1968 in Lubraniec ) is a Polish politician of the Platforma Obywatelska ( Civic Platform ).

Life

From 1992 to 1996 Wojtkowski worked for the management consultancy OSF in Bydgoszcz as a specialist in financial instruments. At the same time he studied at the Bydgoszcz Pedagogical University and graduated in 1994 with a master's degree in history. From 1994 to 2003, in addition to his work for OSF, he was a teacher of history and social studies at an elementary school, a middle school and a high school. From 1994 to 1996 he also conducted research with Professor Maksymilian Grzegorz on Magdeburg law . In 2001 he became an assistant at the University of Humanities and Economics in Włocławek ( Wyższa Szkoła Humanistyczno-Ekonomiczna we Włocławku , WSHE). He completed a postgraduate course on organization and administration in education in 2002. In the same year he did his doctorate at the University of Thorn with a thesis on Kujawien in the period from 1793 to 1918 to the doctor of education ( dr nauk humanistycznych ). In 2002 Marek Wojtkowski became junior professor ( adiunkt ), vice dean in 2004 and deputy dean in the humanistic department of the WSHE in 2006. From 2006 to 2007 he was Vice Rector for Didactics at this university. In the early parliamentary elections in 2007 Wojtkowski joined the constituency 5 Toruń and was able to move into the Sejm with 5,353 votes. There he is active in the commissions for education, science and youth as well as agriculture and village development . After he was re -elected in the 2011 Sejm election , he ran for the post of mayor of Włocławek in the 2014 municipal elections and was able to prevail against incumbent Andrzej Pałuckie ( SLD ) in the second ballot with 64.6% of the votes . He was also able to prevail in the second ballot in the 2018 self-government elections; this time with 63.0% of the votes against Jarosław Chmielewski from the PiS .

Marek Wojtkowski is married and has two children.
