The trademark of the duo were arrangements of classical works with stylistic elements of pop music and jazz music from swing to ragtime . But they also played their own compositions.
history
After it was formed in the early 1960s, the duo made their television debut on a broadcast on March 8, 1963. Marek and Wacek played the leading roles in the Polish film musical Tandem from 1966. In 1981 they were expelled from the GDR for their support for the Polish union Solidarność by wearing badges during a tour .
The duo existed from 1963 until Wacław Kisielewski's early accidental death in 1986 and during this time they played concerts in other European countries, in the USA and Canada . Wacław Kisielewski had a fatal accident as a passenger in a traffic accident.
After the death of his partner, Marek Tomaszewski tried to follow up on the successes as Marek i Michel with Michel Prezman , but had to recognize the failure of this attempt after the recording of the album America and withdrew to Paris.
In 2010 Marek Tomaszewski began his comeback tour as a concert pianist as a soloist in East Germany.
Marek's first solo album is called Premiere , the second Rapsodia and the third Le Sacre du Printemps , an arrangement based on the work of Igor Stravinsky .
