Maren Lehmann

Maren Lehmann (born June 11, 1966 ) is a German sociologist and university lecturer .

Life

Lehmann first began studying design at the University of Art and Design Halle Burg Giebichenstein , then switched to educational sciences and sociology at the universities of Halle / Wittenberg and Bielefeld . She obtained a diploma in educational science. She then began to write her dissertation with Niklas Luhmann , who died before it was finished. She then went on to work on Inclusion in 2001 . Observations of a social form using the example of religion and church for Dr. phil. PhD. Her habilitation in sociology took place in 2009 at the University of Witten-Herdecke with the thesis Expecting Individuality: Career as an Organizational Problem .

Lehmann conducted research and teaching at the Universities of Halle / Wittenberg, Leipzig , the Bauhaus University Weimar , the Vienna University of Economics and Business and the University of Duisburg-Essen .

In the summer semester of 2010, Lehmann represented the professorship for general sociology and sociological theory at the political science faculty of the University of Erfurt , after which she continued to work there as a private lecturer, and was also a private lecturer in sociology at the faculty for cultural reflection at the University of Witten / Herdecke.

Since 2012 Lehmann has held the chair, initially for sociology with a focus on organizational theory , since 2014 for sociological theory, at the Zeppelin University in Friedrichshafen and also a private lecturer at the political science faculty of the University of Erfurt.

Research priorities

Lehmann deals with the sociology of organization, in particular the theory of individuality and career as well as the theory of decision. Following her interest in design, she researches design theory and the sociology of religion .
