Margaret Abraham

Margaret Abraham (* 1960 ) is a professor of sociology at Hofstra University ( Hempstead on Long Island in the US state of New York ) and was President of the International Sociological Association (ISA) from 2014 to 2018 .

Abraham received her Bachelor - and Master Accounts 1982 and 1984 at the Indian Delhi University and in 1989 at Syracuse University for Ph.D. PhD . She has been working at Hofstra University since 1990, first as Assistant Professor (until 1996), then as Associate Professor (until 2002) and finally as Full Professor (since 2002). From 2010 to 2014 she was ISA Vice President, from 2014 to 2018 then President.
