Margaret Feierabend (born around 1951 in Columbia , Missouri ) is an American local politician .

Life

Margaret Feierabend grew up in Baton Rouge and attended Robert E. Lee High School there until 1969. In 1974 she received a bachelor's degree from Louisiana State University .

In 1975 she married Raymond H. Feierabend Jr. and moved with him to Greensboro . There she began studying at the University of North Carolina , which she completed in 1978 with a Master of Education (Community Health Education). In the same year the family moved to Dungannon, Virginia , where her husband, in addition to his work as a doctor, worked on the Commission for Urban Development and was elected to the city council. Margaret Feierabend was on the planning committee there. In 1982 the family moved to Bristol in the state of Tennessee .

In 1997/1998, Margaret Feierabend was the first female mayor of Bristol. Since then, with the exception of the 2001 election, she has been repeatedly elected to the City Council, three times she has been Vice Mayor (Vice Mayor, 1996/97, 1998/99, 2009/10). In 2010/11 she held the office of mayor again. She was succeeded by David Shumaker , while she remained a member of the city council. In her office she is particularly involved in the area of ​​family policy.

Margaret Feierabend has three grown children. She is a member of the State Street United Methodist Church .
