Margaret Woodward
Margaret H. Woodward (* 1960 ) is a former major general in the US Air Force .
Life
From March 2007 to January 2009 she was in command of the 89th Airlift Wing and therefore also responsible for the presidential aircraft, Air Force One . From March 2011 to April 2012 she worked as Befehlshaberin the 17th US Air Force ( US Air Forces Africa ) commander of the US Air Force in the war against Libya . She is the first woman to lead a US war effort. It was subordinate to AFRICOM based in Stuttgart . Despite her high rank, she still flew herself, e.g. B. the Lockheed C-130 transport aircraft . After completing her command, she was last assigned to the US Air Force headquarters as director of the Air Force Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Office. On April 1, 2014, she said goodbye to the US Air Force.
