Margaret Hawksworth

Margaret Hawksworth (born June 6, 1915 , † June 24, 2008 in Masterton , nee Margaret Southam ) was a New Zealand badminton player . Phil Hawksworth , also a successful badminton player, was her husband.

Career

Margaret Hawksworth was one of the pioneers of badminton in New Zealand . In 1937, 1938, 1939 and 1947 she won the national championships in doubles as well as in mixed (here with her husband Phil Hawksworth ). In 1948 and 1949 she won again in doubles.
