New Zealand Badminton Championship
At New Zealand Badminton Championships , the country's titleholders are determined in five individual disciplines and in a team competition. Due to the colonial proximity to the United Kingdom, the motherland of badminton, the individual title fights have been taking place since 1927. The championships were paused from 1940 to 1946. Some of the championships were open - that is, foreign players could also compete in the championships. In the meantime they are explicitly dubbed "Closed Championships" and international championships are also held with the New Zealand Open . In the period of 1964, Alison Glenie won five titles in women's singles and nine each in doubles and mixed. The Wisden Cup is held for teams .
