Margarete Steinborn

Margarete Steinborn (born June 29, 1893 in Berlin ; † July 15, 1957 there ; born Margarete Preuss ) was a German film editor .

She came to the film industry at the age of 20 through the French company Pathé . After working for two decades at Berlin film production companies, she became an editor in 1934.

Margarete Steinborn worked for various companies in the thirties and was responsible for editing several entertainment films. After the end of the war, she initially worked for DEFA . In 1950 she cut the first German color film with Schwarzwaldmädel , as well as other homeland films typical of her time .
