Margarete Carpenter
Margarete Tischler , actually Margarete Maria Tischler (born August 10, 1927 in Vienna ; † May 25, 2005 there ), was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ).
Life
Tischler had been closely associated with social democracy since she was young and, at the age of 18, after the Second World War , began to work in the SPÖ Landstrasse, which was then being rebuilt. In addition, she held functions in the socialist youth and with the Red Falcons . From 1959 to 1982 she was district secretary of the SPÖ Landstrasse and in 1959 a member of the Landstrasse district council . From December 11, 1964 to May 3, 1984 she was a member of the Vienna State Parliament and member of the City Council of Vienna and from May 27, 1983 until she left the Vienna State Parliament and City Council, she was its fourth chairman. In 1974 she became chairwoman of the district women's committee of the SPÖ Landstrasse and stayed that way until 1987. In 1983 she became deputy chairwoman of the SPÖ Landstrasse. She held this position until 1987.
Honors
On December 2, 1975 she was awarded the Golden Decoration for Services to the State of Vienna .
Tomb
Tischler was buried on June 13, 2005 at the Kagran cemetery , group J, grave 53, in the family grave.
