Margarethe von Alvensleben (born October 31, 1840 in Erxleben , † April 17, 1899 in Heiligengrabe ) was abbess of the monastery Stift zum Heiligengrabe .

Margarethe von Alvensleben came from the Low German noble family von Alvensleben . Born as the sixth child of Ferdinand Graf von Alvensleben (1803–1889) and Pauline von der Schulenburg (1810–1882) from Priemern, she lived - unmarried - at first on her parents' estate Erxleben I and ran the household there - until she became abbess in 1893 of the monastery Stift zum Heiligengrabe was chosen. However, she was only able to exercise this office for a few years and died very young at the age of 58. An inscription with the Alvensleben coat of arms (see picture) in the collegiate church in Heiligengrabe commemorates her time there. She was a sister of the ambassador Friedrich Johann Graf von Alvensleben (1836-1913) and the district administrator Friedrich Joachim von Alvensleben (1833-1912).
