Margarita Pellegrin

Margarita Pellegrin (born November 19, 1940 in Aue ; † December 3, 2016 in Dresden ) was a German painter and graphic artist .

Life

Margarita Pellegrin studied from 1958 to 1961 at the ABF of the HfBK Dresden , where she met her future husband, the Chilean painter Hernando León . In 1963 she followed him to Chile . From 1964 to 1969 she worked as an assistant for graphics and from 1969 to 1974 as a lecturer in design at the Universidad de Chile in Antofagasta. After the military coup in September 1973 , she returned to the GDR with her husband and three children in 1974. Since then she has lived and worked in Dresden as a freelance artist a. a. in the areas of textile design (until the end of the 80s), painting, graphics, installations and graphic design (from the 90s). In 2003 she took over the writing, direction, production and design of the animated film “Der Fall”.

Exhibitions

Her work has been shown in personal exhibitions in Antofagasta, Santiago, Lima, Dresden, Pirna, Cottbus, Magdeburg, Berlin and Kemi as well as in numerous group exhibitions in Chile, Peru, Bolivia, Argentina, Germany, Poland, USA, Canada, Finland, the Netherlands and France .
