Margherita Maccapani Missoni (born February 21, 1983 in Milan ) is an Italian model and actress .

biography

Margherita Missoni was born as the eldest child of the fashion designer Angela Missoni and the composer Marco Maccapani. Margherita grew up on Lake Varese north of Milan. She is the granddaughter of the fashion designer Ottavio Missoni and his wife Rosita, the founders of the Milanese fashion empire Missoni . Since moving from Italy, she has lived in New York City to pursue her acting career. Margherita has a younger brother Francesco and a younger sister Teresa. Her mother Angela Missoni is currently the fashion company's creative director. Margherita Missoni studied philosophy at the University of Milan and acting at the Lee Strasberg Institute in New York.

Career

As a model for Missoni, Margherita Missoni can be found in numerous fashion magazines. In 2006 she was the face of the Missoni perfume campaign. Also in 2006 she starred in Jean Genet's play The Maids in New York. She was voted into the list of the 100 most beautiful women in the world by Harper's & Queen magazine .

Private

On June 25, 2012, she married the Italian racing driver Eugenio Amos in the Santa Maria Annunciata church in her hometown of Brunello in the province of Varese. She has lived in an apartment in Milan with her husband since her wedding.
