Margita Abrahámová

Margita Abrahámová (also Gita Abrahámová; born November 13, 1933 , Moravský Svätý Ján , Czechoslovakia ; † February 12, 2005 , Brno , Czech Republic ) was an opera singer with a soprano voice .

Life

Margita Abrahámová received her musical training at the Academy of Music in Bratislava with Imre Godin (1907–1979) and Margita Česányiová (1907–1979) as well as at the Janáček Academy for Music and Performing Arts Brno with Bohumil Soběský (1892–1965) ). From 1958 to 1969 she sang at the State Theater in Košice and from 1969 in Brno . She was also in demand as a concert singer. Her well-known roles included Kaťuša in Vzkříšení [Resurrection] by Ján Cikker , Milada in Dalibor , Libusa , Vendulka in Hubička , Mařenka in The Bartered Bride , Jenůfa and Kostelnička in Jenůfa . In addition, she sang Tosca , Turandot , Venus in Tannhauser as well as Jaroslawna in Prince Igor .
