Margitta Schmidtke
Margitta Schmidtke (born October 28, 1944 in Straßgräbchen in Saxony ) is a Bremen politician ( SPD ) and she was a member of the Bremen citizenship .
biography
Family, education and work
Schmidtke attended elementary school, business school and household school and graduated with secondary school leaving certificate. Margitta Schmidtke trained as a pediatric nurse. She has been a housewife since 1963.
She is married and has four children of her own and currently six foster children. In over forty years she has taken in over a hundred foster children and at times eleven children lived in her household at the same time.
politics
Schmidtke has been a member of the SPD since 1983. Until 1997 she was chairwoman of the local SPD association Rönnebeck. From 1999 to 2003 she was second chairwoman of the SPD sub-district north.
She was a member of the advisory board at the Blumenthal local office from 1993 to 2003 and was chairwoman of the SPD parliamentary group on the advisory board and spokeswoman for the advisory board from 1999 to 2003.
The main focus of her political activity is education and social policy. She sees this policy area as an important part of her party's agenda.
From 2003 to 2015 she was a member of the Bremen Parliament. In the 18th electoral term from 2011 she was a member of the Bremen citizenship as a replacement for a member of the Senate. She was represented in the Committee for Equal Opportunities for Women, Works Committee KiTa Bremen, Works Committee Workshop Bremen, Youth Welfare Committee and in the State Youth Welfare Committee as well as in the city deputation for education and the city deputation for social affairs, children and youth. For these deputations she is the contact person for questions about disability policy.
Honors
In 2005 Margitta Schmidtke received the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon because in 41 years she had taken in over a hundred foster children in addition to her four children.
