Margot Bernice Ashwin

Margot Bernice Ashwin , married Margot Forde ( 1935 - June 23, 1992 in Palmerston North ) was a New Zealand botanist . Your official botanical author abbreviation is " Ashwin "; earlier the abbreviation “ Ashw. " in use.

She worked in the Department of Botany at Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand . The New Zealand Forage Germplasm Center plant seed bank in Palmerston North has been renamed the Margot Forde Forage Germplasm Center in her honor . She went on research trips to Inner Mongolia and Xinjiang in China as well as to the Caucasus .
