Margret Uebber

Margret Uebber (born January 11, 1959 in St. Tönis ) is a German diplomat . She has been ambassador to Sarajevo / Bosnia and Herzegovina since 2019 . Before that, she was ambassador to Turkmenistan .

career

After graduating from high school, Margret Uebber completed training for the senior foreign service from 1977 to 1980. This was followed by posts at the embassies in Ottawa (1980–1984), Budapest (1984–1987), Damascus (1987–1990) and Bangkok (1990–1992) before she began her preparatory service for the higher foreign service in 1992 . After graduation, it was used in the Foreign Office from 1994 to 1997.

In 1997 Uebber went to Skopje as Permanent Representative of the Ambassador and returned to the Foreign Office in 2000. This was followed by tasks in the secretariat of the Commissioner of the High Representative to the EU Skopje (2002–2003) and at the Permanent Mission of the Federal Republic of Germany to the OSCE Vienna (2003–2006). Uebber was then deputy head of department in the Foreign Office from 2006 to 2010, then went to the embassy in Beijing from 2010 to 2013 . After a further period in the Foreign Office, this time as Head of Unit, she took over the management of the embassy in Ashgabat / Turkmenistan in 2016 . She stayed there until 2019 and then moved to Sarajevo as an ambassador .

Margret Uebber is single.
