Norberto Alejandro Briasco Balekian ( Armenian Նորբերտո Ալեխանդրո Բրիասկո Բալեկյան Norberto Alechandro Briasko Balekjan ; born February 29, 1996 in Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine - Armenian football player who is under contract with Club Atlético Huracán in the Superliga Argentina . The winger joined the Armenian national team in March 2018 .

Career

Norberto Briasco was born in Buenos Aires as the son of Armenian immigrants, which is why he has both nationalities. He grew up in an Armenian community in the south of the capital and describes himself as "proud of his origins".

He began his professional football career at the local club Atlético Huracán , where he was promoted to head coach Eduardo Domínguez's first team for the 2016/17 season . He made his debut in the top Argentinian league on August 27, 2016 (1st matchday) in the 0-1 away defeat against CD Godoy Cruz , where he came on in the 75th minute for Mauro Bogado . In his third appearance on March 12, 2017 (15th matchday), he scored the golden goal for the 1-0 away win against CA San Martín de San Juan after just three minutes . As a result, he made the breakthrough in the starting lineup. In the 2016/17 season he started 14 of his 18 league appearances and scored three goals in these games.

In the following season 2017/18 he only came to five missions in which he managed one goal and one assist. He came to more league games in the following season 2018/19, in which he started in three of his 13 appearances.

It wasn't until the 2019/20 season that he made it back to the starting line-up. He scored his first goal of the season on August 18, 2019 (3rd matchday) when he scored in the 2-1 away defeat against CA Patronato after being substituted on. He finished the season with three goals and a template, which he was able to collect in 18 league games.

National team

Due to his parentage, Briasco was eligible to play for both the Argentine and Armenian national teams . On March 7, 2018 he received his first nomination for the Armenian A selection from coach Artur Petrosyan .

He made his debut on March 24 in a 0-0 draw in the friendly international match against Estonia , when he came on for Artem Simonyan in the 68th minute of the game .
