Maria Barbara Wäser
Maria Barbara Wäser , née Maria Barbara Schmidtschneider (* 1750 in Nuremberg ; † December 16, 1797 ) was an actress and theater director.
Life
As a child she worked in the troop of a Frau Hochbruckner. From there she separated together with her future husband, the actor Johann Christian Wäser and switched to the troupe of Johann Friedrich Neuhoff (1720–1764) in St. Petersburg. From there, they broke up again and started their own business as a small traveling group ( Wäsersche Gesellschaft ). They played in Reval , Riga , in Polish cities, in Lübeck, Hamburg, Stralsund, Kiel and Rostock. From there they moved to Silesia via Leipzig and Dresden. After the death of her husband in 1789, she continued to run the theater in Breslau until 1797.
