Maria Hagleitner
Maria Hagleitner (born September 24, 1907 in Bregenz , † November 2, 1997 in Innsbruck ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and housewife. She was a member of the Austrian National Council from 1960 to 1961 and a member of the Federal Council from 1961 to 1972 .
After elementary school, Hagleitner attended secondary school and learned the trade of a seamstress. Subsequently she worked as a tailor and housewife. From 1923 she became politically active as a member of the Social Democratic Party. After 1945 she became a member of the party executive of the SPÖ Tyrol and represented the SPÖ from 1951 to 1960 in the Innsbruck municipal council. She was also a member of the National Council from July 1, 1960 to November 6, 1961 and a member of the Federal Council from November 7, 1961 to November 24, 1972. In addition, she acted as chairwoman of the women's committee of the SPÖ Tirol.
