The statue of Maria Immaculata is a small sacred monument on the south-facing forecourt of the Stammersdorf parish church in Stammersdorf in the 21st Viennese district of Floridsdorf . The property is a listed building as part of the former cemetery ensemble .

history

The figure was created in the middle of the 18th century and originally stood in the town center and was only moved to its current location at a later date.

description

The work of art consists of a four-sided curved and profiled base with the inscription Ave / Maria above a two-tier pedestal . Above it is a kind of curved cloud base with a winged angel's head. Above this is the globe with a snake. A moving figure of Mary with a star nimbus stands on the globe . Above it is a curved sheet metal roof with a jagged edge.
