Maria Kofler is an Austrian solo artist and multi-instrumentalist .

Career

After studying at the Innsbruck Music School ( flute ), Maria Kofler attended the Innsbruck Conservatory ( clarinet ). Even during her basic musical training, Kofler played in various cross-genre ensembles and discovered the saxophone for herself. During this time Maria Kofler developed a solo project in which she freely interprets and improvises jazz , pop and rock classics with several wind instruments ( saxophones alto, tenor, baritone; flutes, soprano, alto, bass; clarinet) . At first she was on the road with this program under the name "Maria Kofler with Band in the Box", in 2009 the project for the release of the first sound carrier "sax` n` more "was renamed" Maria Kofler sax `n` more". In 2012 the record "Have A Nice Day" followed.

Maria Kofler appears internationally with the project “sax` n´ more ”. B. in the Austria House of the ÖOC in London 2012 , Sotschi 2014 and Rio de Janeiro 2016 .

At the same time, in 2014 she put together the "sax` n` more orchestra "with which she went on tour. The sound carrier “Maria Kofler and the sax 'n' more Orchestra Live At UMIT Hall” emerged from this concert series. Since 2015, Kofler has been inviting well-known and befriended musicians to the stage at the “sax`n` more nights” and interpreting songs from their program with them. In 2016, a video recording with Zabine Kapfinger was made, who interpreted Hubert von Goisern's “Heast As Net” with Maria Kofler .
