Maria Paradowska

Maria Teresa Paradowska (born June 9, 1932 in Poznan ; † January 9, 2011 ibid) was a Polish historian, ethnographer and professor at the Polish Academy of Sciences .

In 1960 she graduated from the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan with a degree in ethnography . For years she worked as a research assistant at the Polish Academy of Sciences , where she a. a. examined the Polish minority in South America and the German minority in Poland. She was particularly interested in the history of the Poznan Bamberg . She was the chairman of the “Poznan Bamberg Association” (Towarzystwo Bambrów Poznańskich) and the creator and director of the Poznan Bamberg Museum.

In 2004 she was awarded the Order of Polonia Restituta (Knight).

Her life's work was the book Bambrzy ( Bamber ), which was published for the first time in 1975. The revised work was then published again in 1995 and 1998 in Poland and 1994 in Germany.
