Maria Sturm (athlete)

Maria Sturm , married Haas (born January 30, 1935 in Nuremberg ; † February 10, 2019 ibid), was a German athlete who won the bronze medal in the pentathlon at the 1954 European Championships (4357 points: 11.88 m - 1.54 m - 26.2 s - 11.9 s - 5.61 m).

Sturm began at TV Fürth in 1860 , belonged to the sports club 1. FC Nürnberg from 1954 to 1963 and then moved to Siemens Nürnberg. In her competition time she was 1.75 m tall and 62 kg heavy.

Her husband was the athlete Karl-Friedrich Haas , who won Olympic medals in 1952 and 1956. Their son Christian Haas was the best German sprinter of the 1980s.
