Maria Theresia von Eltz-Rodendorf (1751)

Maria Theresia Baroness von Eltz-Rodendorf (* 1720 ; † July 15, 1803 in Freisdorf ) was mistress of Bourscheid between 1762 and 1795 .

Maria Theresia was the daughter of Johann Hugo Ferdinand von Eltz-Rodendorf and Maria Antonetta Mechthild von Metternich-Müllenark . Her sister Marie Wilhelmine was married to Franz Eduard Anton von der Heyden , Mr. zu Niederweis . Maria Theresa married Franz Ludwig Schenk von Schmidtburg (1711–1762) in 1747 . Her uncle Hugo Franz Wolf von Metternich sold the Bourscheid reign in 1753 to Demoiselle Constance de Mathelin de Rolley for financial reasons. Maria Theresa sued against this purchase act, whereupon she was awarded four fifths of the rule in 1762. Later she was able to buy a fifth. She also owned the dominion of Freisdorf (now France).

Her son Franz Joseph Ignaz Nepomuk Schenk von Schmidtburg sold Bourscheid Castle in 1812 .
