Freistroff (German: Freisdorf ) is a French commune with 1050 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the arrondissement Forbach-Boulay-Moselle and the canton of Bouzonville .

The 14.67 km² large town is located on the Nied , about four kilometers southwest of Bouzonville , not far from the border with Saarland at an altitude between 195 and 276 meters above sea level.
