Filstroff ( German : Filsdorf ) is a French commune with 777 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ).

The municipality Filstroff located five kilometers north of Bouzonville and five kilometers southwest of the Saarland place Niedaltdorf .

history

The place was known as Filsdorff in 1170 . Other names were Vilsdroff (1179) and Fellstroff (1594). The name Filstroff has been used since the end of the 18th century .
